I don't know how many mice and rats are used in every single country but i do know the statistics for the UK in 2005 and 2004: 1,910,110 mice, 464,727 rats and 37,475 other rodents were used in 2004. In 2005 :1,955,035 mice, 414,335 rats and 40,856 other rodents. I also know an estimated amount of rats and mice used in the USA which is 15-20 million. Animal testing needs to be stopped.
If you go to the pet store you will find mice for sale called "fancy mice" they come in many different colors and coat styles. Compared to most mice they are more calm and less likely to bite.
