Well it is important because say you fell of your horse and you didnt have gloves on, your hands might slip down the reins and peel your skin of,make them bleed,give you blisters and its just gonna ruin your hands so it is important. There is actually another reason aswell and that is incase your horse pulls his/her head down while riding your hands will get all blistery and cut and they will bleed.If you ride a horse that pulls his head down and you dont have any gloves maybe you should tell your instructor because its not nice getting hands full of blisters.Most riding gloves have like these little dots and they help you grip more and if your horse pulls his head down you will get more protection.
