They don't have individual names, since they are wild. Or really, they are feral - meaning brought here by the Spaniards in the 16th century as domesticated riding stock and then escaped/went free and became wild. Mustang groups are often named for the area that they have inhabited for a long time & some of these have specific breed traits. On the whole, mustangs are descended from the Spanish native horses. Then later, as the West was settled, other breeds got loose/interbred to create the mustangs we know today.
