1) Habitat loss, caused by humans clearing the land for agriculture.
2) Deforestation for palm plantations and the production of palm oil.
3) Poaching of tigers for their organs, pelts and bones for eastern medicines.
All species of tigers and other big cats are endangered, either due to poaching, or to the destruction of their environment, which also reduces the prey available.
Not to kill and sell their skin
Tigers became endangered because they were being killed in large numbers for their pelts.
Man and other tigers. Some people poach these tigers, and its habitat is being destroyed.
the food chain will be all messed up if tigers go extinct
Tigers are becoming endangered because humans are starting to hunt them and use parts of their body: paws, fur, tails, teeth and heads.
As of the year 2000, the AZA (Association of zoos and aquariums) released the species survival plan for all of the tiger species. According to this link below, there are about 400-500 sumatran tigers left in the wild. They reside only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Some people may ask why can't zoos use artificial insemination on the tigers that they house within their zoos. Female tigers need to be physically stimulated by the male in order for their egg to be released. This is crazy WE need to let them live
Tigers are endangered, because there are people out there right now waiting to kill them and they know they are going extinct. but people pay good money for them. Their habitat is being reduced, also.
white tigers, blue whales and toucan.
All six subspecies are endangered currently. In last year's study, the Siberian and Bengal subspecies did show slight population increases. The Indo Chinese tiger was fairly static at around 900. Malayan was at 600, Sumatran was around 400, and had a slight decrease. The South China may be extinct in the wild, but efforts are underway to reintroduce captive born tigers into their former haunts. They are being taught to hunt at a wildlife preserve in Africa.
There are currently 5 types, and a six is being classified right now. 1. Bengal Tiger 2. Indo-Chinese Tigers 3. Sumatran Tigers 4. Siberian Tigers 5. South China Tigers *6. Malayan Tiger
they catch as much tigers boy and girl as they can and they wait until the tigers mate and when they have a lot of tigers about 600 and they do that over and over again and soon there will be a LOT of tigers
