house cats can be any kind of cat but i think that the best type of house cat would be burmese or Siamese, or a long haired cat like a norwegien forest, American bobtail, American curl. i would sugest a long haired cat because they do not do well outside because of the care needed for their fur :)

Domesticated cats live in homes. Any domesticated cat breed can live in a home, for say a Tabby or Siamese cat. Domesticated cats are the opposite of wild cats, which can not be held in the captivity of a home.

The introduction of some breeds with Serval, Caracal, Ocelot etc are on the rise and generally result in a high percentage of animals which are sterile. Those that can reproduce are generally back crossed on domestic cats and each other until certain characteristics are fixed....resulting in an animal that can readily breed with any domestic cat to produce fertile offspring...making those characteristics part of the genepool of a breed that continues to be a domestic cat.
