welsh ponies can be brilliant child's ponies I've had 4 of them and most of my friends have had them at some point . currently i have a welsh sec D mare , an Arab gelding , an ex racehorse gelding , Irish draught mare , ex show jumper mare and TBxCob gelding and my welsh can jump as well as my ex show jumper which in her day she could jump 5ft and now she can jump around 3,6 ft. If your thinking of buying one for a child make sure its over 6 for a more experienced child and over 10 for a novice for your self you don't say how big you need but my sec D is 15hh and that's really as big as they get . hope this helped Alice xx 15yrs riding experience i know that don't sound much but I'm only 18 :D xxx
