For in-hand showing I would suggest black riding jeans with a "show shirt" that also accents your horses coloring. If you wear a hat make sure that it matches the outfit. during the winter time if you show then, I would suggest some dark colors that will still "pop" the horses coloring so the judges see that you took the time in making your horse look good.
Depends on the type of showing. Each breed association has it's own shows that are limited to that breed or sometimes crosses. Additionally, all different breeds or mixes can be used for performance-oriented showing. Indeed, many famous stadium jumpers or cutting horses were grade horses (no breed). It all depends what discipline you are in.

When a horse is "back in years," it means they are returning to form or regaining their previous level of performance after a period of decline or injury. It typically refers to older horses showing a resurgence in their abilities or competitiveness.
If you ride horses I would have another adult talk to your mom and explain why you need to wear tights or jodhpurs and what safety concerns are regarding proper attire and horses. This could be an instructor, barn owner etc.
YES! EXTREMELY! I love them, one of the BEST horses out there! They are excellent at racing and showing and riding trails and amazing with children! They are truly lovely horses and you should honor and respect them as they honor and respect you!
having their ears pinned back is a horses way of showing aggrevation or annoyance. Unless there are flies, then they may be trying to prevent that. But mostly not a good thing when your horses ears are back
It is when you go to places with your horses and show it off in front of a judge and then the judge picks the best one
