What big dog breed is best with children?

Ok. first of all, I'm not saying that beagles are not good pets because they are! but I think that they arent very good for very young children. They have a reputation for being very stubborn and they play pretty rough when they're puppies. They would be ok for children over six, but if you have an infant or small toddler I'd suggest a Retriever or Labrador. They are very kind and fun loving! And they learn fast, too! They're easy to take care of and they are very loyal and protective of their humans. They tend to think of small children as their pups. Ok, now about the boxer, you have to be carefull with those. They are very cute and kind most of the time but if you plan to get a boxer for a family with small children, it's much safer to get a young puppy straight from a breeder. The reason for that is if you get a dog from a rescue shelter or pound, it's much more likely to have aggression problems in it's lifetime. That's, of course, because rescue dogs have usually been abandoned or abused so they have every right to be somewhat tempermental. So if you want a boxer for a family with a young child, you're better off getting one from a breeder rather than a shelter. Hope that was some help!

The best big dog to get are Pit Bulls. I know it sounds crazy but they are the friendliest dogs for a family. Also I would like you to know that there is no such thing as a bad dog just a bad owner. Pit bulls are just about the friendliest dog you can have, my daughter is 11 and she's only had 2 kinds of dogs. She's had 3 Pit Bulls and 1 Rottweiler. So if you are thinking about getting a big dog for a family pet consider one of those. My daughter had a Rottweiler when she was 2, and that dog only brought pleasure to our family, she would even let my daughter ride on her back. Definitely go pro Pit Bill and Rottweiler.

Also my daughter is always somewhere in a animal shelter, and there are some dogs that can't be touched but none of them are Pit Bulls or Rottweilers!

There are many breeds that are good with children. You have to research the temperament of each breed. That being said, the best dog for our family was a Golden Retriever. They are just great with kids. Check out your local shelter before you go to a breeder. There probably won't be any Golden Retrivers there but there are a lot of dogs there that are good with kids.

American Pit bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Newfoundlands are among the most child tolerant dog breed. It mainly depends on the child, if the child is respect full and hte dog is raise with the child almost any breed would be fine, but smaller breeds aren't as tolerant and are more fragile.

A Chocolate Labrador because they are so friendly and are like a member of the family. I really enjoy having my lab around because she keeps me company a lot! She has never bitten anybody and she is so CHILD FRIENDLY.
