As a dog trainer (for 10yrs) I'd have to say that you can't guarentee any one breed will always be good with other pets. I've seen Golden retrievers that are extremely pet aggressive and Pit bulls that are extremely pet friendly (and vice-versa). The point is that it has little to do with the breed, it's the owner and the way the dog is introduced into the household that makes the difference. Now some breeds have stronger hunting instincts, and that can cause some problems; Greyhounds for example are more likely than Shi tzus to chase a small pet. If your looking to add a dog to your household the most important thing is knowing how to be the dog's leader and how to control un-wanted behavior that may come up.
