What can you feed to a guinea pig to prevent scurvy?

Whatever you do resist the temptation to feed it alot of lettuce or any other fruits and vegetables. It will get severe diarrhea which can be fatal. There is no reason a domestic guinea pig would get scurvy. Stick with feeding it pellet food and give it lettuce once a week.

If your guinea pig has an illness, it's not likely to be scurvy. Scurvy results from lack of Vitamin C. A normal guinea pig diet includes plenty of foods with Vitamin C. Check with your vet to see what really ails your guinea pig.
