Criollo horses are native to several countries in South America.

Because of their low basal metabolism they rival Arabian horses in endurance and may well perform better in endurance competitions that last for more than a week.

Based on this information the Criollo would subsist primarily on native forage.

The use of concentrated feed would be contract indicated.
