Big cat cubs will resemble their parents, except that they will lack signs of maturity such as the manes on male lions, and their markings might be different. For example, young lions have "fawn spots" that turn tawny and disappear as they grow older. Cubs are about the same size in comparison to their parents that domestic cats are to kittens. Unlike kittens, which are usually softer than their parents, baby big cats have thick wiry fur; they may look fluffy, but actually if you pet them they're the texture of Brillo pads.
