Yaks are long haired bovines and are herd animals, up to 30 or so in a group. They are cattle and have long horns similar to cattle. They are found in the Himalayan region of South East Asia. Males stand between 6 and 7 feet tall at the shoulder, females some 30% smaller. Males can weigh between 300 and 500 Kgs. Both have long hair to insulate them from the cold and are brown and black. Domesticated aminals may also be white. Domesticated animals and beasts of burden, drawing ploughs and carrying reasonably heavy loads. The milk is turned into cheese and butter. Yaks grunt, but do not make any other noise that may be similar to cattle
