What do you do if you encounter baby moose?

Just hope that Momma ain't close by, particularly if you stumble across the calf hiding in the bushes or reeds somewhere! If you find a calf in such a position, get out of the area NOW, because momma is NOT going to be happy about you coming across her calf. She knows where she hid it, and she'll easily and very quickly come back if she senses her baby's in danger.

Of course it all depends on how you encounter the calf and where.

Stay away, if the moose looks protective of its young run. Fortunately most moose charges are bluffs, They should nevertheless be taken seriously. If a moose chases you, get behind something solid. You can run around a tree faster than a moose can. If a moose knocks you down, it may continue running or start stomping and kicking with all four feet. Curl up in a ball, protect your head with your arms, and lie still. Don't try to move until the moose moves a safe distance away or it may renew its attack.

Moose are not overly aggressive, fun to chase, but incredibly dangerous. Should you be a hunter, its obvious= Shoot the thing! Moose meat is somewhat stringy and strang in texture, but still tasty. Step one: Keep your calm, and walk away without making any threatening gestures. Moose, elk, and deer are all very unlikely to attack you. In fact, its so unlikely, that I'm not even going to go into detail on what to do if that happens :)

Step two: You're still alive! continue your life as normal by disregarding your rebelious kids, snorting crack, and buying 100 calorie microwavable dinners to make yourself proud for dieting and staying skinny, even though everything will still go straight to your hips if you don't exercize!
