We think that our dog injested wild mushrooms that were in the yard. She became acutely ill with vomiting. She became very unresponsive and seemed to be in shock. We took her to emergency room. They never really diagnosed what had caused her illness. She had raised liver enzymes and problems with blood clotting. She was in the hospital for 3 days. The vomiting and bloody diahrea went on for all of that time. Doctor said had we not brought her to emergency room for necessary fluids and antibiotics, we would have lost her. The only thing we found in the backyard was mushrooms -- and there was plenty from recent rains. She is a great dog but eats anything in sight!
Dogs are affected by the chemicals in magic mushrooms, and thus they would exhibit changes in behavior if they ingested an appropriate quantity of magic mushrooms. However, what dogs actually experience while under the influence of mushrooms is anyone's guess.

My dog swallowed a screw, I think. What do i do?

Do it again or think of a better exuse. It's been done. Actually, *my* dog WOULD eat your homework.
To a certain extent yes. Normally they grow around it, not actually in it. I would stay away from small mushrooms growing around it though. Not all mushrooms are edible. Not all are psychedelic. Some are just plain poisonous. Catastrophic liver failure might result from eating various mushrooms. Permanent Brain-damage might result from eating psychedelic mushrooms.
The dog I ate didn't seem to think so......
