What do you do if your dog ate a XTC pill?

Try to make it vomit, or take it to the vet.

According to my vet, give them hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. My dog 40 lb dog snatched my pill bottle and ate about 40 Ativan pills, 2 mg each. We induced vomiting about 15 minutes after it happened and she is fine. For future reference, keep the pills put away, I know I will!

I was in this situation recently and the Vet told me to mix 1 tablespoon of Hydrogen Peroxide in water or milk and give to my dog. She is a 10-pound Maltshipoo...and i used milk. Depending on the exact medication and on the size of dog, it would vary a lot ranging from no problem at all, to serious effects. Any time a dog eats something it should not have, especially medications, you should contact your vet or use the poison control phone number (the vet or an emergency animal clinic can give you that number).

Plan ahead and ask your vet for the phone number in your area and then post it on your refrigerator or bulletin board so you always know where it is and can call the number even in a panic.

Keep a close eye on him and prepare yourself for some diarrhea. If this was a small dog, or the amount of amoxicillin was high, you may want to call your vetetrinarian or the ASPCA Toxicology Hotline to see what the acute toxicities would be.

Hel'll love it . :D I've done it plenty of times. He's eyes will dillate and he'll chill for hours. altough dont get too strong pills around 100 MG ~ will do.
