First, you need the bedding. When i used to have guinea-pigs, i put newspapers, lemon-smelling bedding, and then special straw for guinea-pigs. They also need a food bowl, and they looove dark places,so you can make a small house inside his cage, he/she will LOVE it. He will chew on it if its cardboard. They also need a water bottle.
My guinea-pig Daisy used to live in a closed terrace with he husband, Brownie. She had a table for herself, and a cage ontop of the table, where she slept. My mom made a shelf inside the cage, and she looooved that! Also, at nights, cover their cages with towels or something, they love it, they think its a dark, cozy tunnel. They also need fresh greens EVERY day. Ex; green apples, cucumber peels. They also loved the special seeds, and carrots. Finally, they need special dried grass, Daisy & Brownie loved it!
*they also need a constant source of vitamin C for they do not make their own. They also need things to chew on in their cage because their teeth keep growing*
No wood chips will not hurt your guinea pig and are often put into their cages for bedding.
No. Most guinea pig cages are cat safe. If the cage is enclosed your guinea pigs should be fine. It is safest to have a latch though just in case.
eather put a wall up or seperate cages or if there bro and sis its ok or spaid or nuter i perfer you nuter cause its cheaper
go to the pet store. they have all things guinea pig there- including cages and stuff.
It depends on the size of the cage. Some cages are cheaper when they come in a guinea pig care supplies kit.My cage for my guinea pig was $50.But, then again,it was originally meant for two guinea pigs.
You cannot put guinea pigs in tanks because they feel trapped being surrounded by glass and also there is no where to strap on water bottles and needed equipment onto the walls of the tank. They will also become blind if you put them in an aquarium and there is little air circulation.
C & C grid cages. ITs a home pet.
Yes, you can.
yes because it provides more space from the guinea pig to roam.
No. That is torture to a guinea pig. Guinea pigs need a huge cage 7.5 feet is recommended at a minimum!
