It depends what you want your dog to do!
The main thing you would want is your dog to be house broken. My puppy is still learning to go outside when she needs to go, its not very pleasant inside.
Learning sit is also very helpful. Its a way to get your dogs attention and to stop what they are doing.
Their are also other basic tricks like:
Roll over
Play dead
Paw
Beg
Lie down
These are just the main tricks people use for their pets.
As a puppy most dogs can get a little bit out of hand. Their excitable side can sometimes be hard to deal with. Make sure he/she learns to calm down when needed to. My Puppy is always going crazy when ever we take her for walks. Of course shes lovely! But when she sees another dog she might as well follow them home. Make sure they learn their name and respond to it when ever.
These are the main Dog Training tips i can give you. Remember these are just the basics so if your looking for training a dog for competitions its better to research this elsewhere :)
