Wolves usually scratch a big cave-like hole in the ground. If there is an old fox den, they sometimes enlarge it and make it their den. Wolves only use the den to have pups, so it doesn't need to be huge. They sometimes, but rarely, use a small cave .
A wolves den is where it sleeps, raises pups, eats, ect. Basically it is their home. They do a lot of the same things we do in our home.
Wolf den = Wolfsbau Wolf's lair = Wolfsschanze

No, it is not. The sentence would read "Looking out from your den you could see a wolf enter den". The second usage of den/quane should have a "the" in front of it. "Looking out from your den you could see a wolf enter the den." "Looking out from your quane you could see a wolf enter the quane." These would be correct.
A den.
