Most Tigers live in Asia, specifically throughout Southeast Asia, China, Korea and Russia. Tigers like to live in swamps, grasslands, and rain forests. Usually where Tigers live there are trees, bushes, and clumps of tall grass.
Tigers are carnivorous predators that primarily hunt large ungulates such as deer, wild boar, and water buffalo. They may also prey on smaller animals like rabbits or birds when larger prey is scarce. Tigers are solitary hunters, using their strength and stealth to ambush their prey. In some cases, they may scavenge on carrion if the opportunity arises.
The name tigars is not formally recorded. However, when the IRB sanctioned professional status to the Union code many clubs added a new dimension to their names. This followed the League teams who were already adding names t their clubs
It is estimated that there are around 3,900 tigers left in the wild today. Tiger populations have been declining due to habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflicts. Conservation efforts are being made to protect and increase tiger numbers in the wild.
