A Jack Russell and Shih Tzu mix should be fed high-quality dog food that meets their nutritional needs, ideally formulated for small breeds. Look for options rich in protein, with whole meats as the first ingredient, and avoid fillers like corn or soy. It's important to consider their activity level and adjust portion sizes accordingly. Always consult your veterinarian for personalized dietary recommendations based on your dog's specific health requirements.
Jack Russell Shih Tzus, a mixed breed of the Jack Russell Terrier and Shih Tzu, typically weigh between 10 to 20 pounds and stand around 10 to 15 inches tall at the shoulder. Their size can vary based on genetics and individual traits from each parent breed. Generally, they are small to medium-sized dogs, making them suitable for various living environments.
I've just got a jack russell shih tzu cross puppy. He's called a jack tzu.
Jack Russell terrier we have one and they love each other!!
The Jack Russell is a smaller version of a Fox terrrier. A Fox terrier is derived from a wolf. I belive they just kept breeding small-legged Fox terriers until they got the Jack Russell terrier.
Unless the Jack Russell was bred with a Golden Retriever then no, it is not physically possible. If your Jack Russell has given birth to Golden Retriever puppies, then clearly, your dogs magic. The only solution.
We feed ours bakers, if you look on the pedigree food range, however, they do dry food specially for shih tzus, and other dogs aswell.
Congratulations on getting a Shih Tzu. I have a Shih Tzu mix, and I feed her Innova, but the vet recommended Great Life, Taste Of the Wild, and Pedigree. Hope this helps!
I have one that is 7" high and 10" long and another that is 9" high and 16" long!

Put her on a good quality Puppy dry dog food. She needs calories now as she is producing milk. Feed her at least twice a day. Don't feed some generic cheap food.
