Yes, foxes do hunt gerbils, especially in regions where both animals coexist. Foxes are opportunistic predators and will eat small mammals, including gerbils, as part of their diet. Their hunting strategies and adaptability make them effective at catching a variety of prey in their habitats.
CritterTrail sells habitats for small pets such as mice, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs. Their habitats can be expanded with "Fun Nels" to create an exciting habitat for small pets.
Gerbils are small rodents that are native to the deserts and semi-arid habitats of Africa and Asia. They typically live in burrows underground to escape predators and maintain a stable temperature. In captivity, gerbils require a similar habitat with bedding material for burrowing and a safe enclosure to prevent escape.
Other gerbils.
Gerbils are an animal and can not be "invented".
In my experience with Gerbils, I find that they don't attempt to escape the cages as is the case with Hamsters. Every Hamster I've had has escaped or attempted and that's from very sound habitats. My Gerbils have never attempted and they are housed in a Critter-Trail (purchased from PetCo). I have never housed my Gerbils in a Fish Tank. I know that they suggest that, but I feel the ventilation is not sufficient. Additionally, plenty of empty (no glue) toilet rolls and paper towel rolls + Kleenex boxes (with the plastic stripped out) are the best toys for the Gerbils. They love to chew on these and make homes. Think recycling!! Yeah yeah yeah. what if u havent got any money, thiko?!
Male gerbils can be neutered, but it is not recomended. Female gerbils should not be spayed. In general male gerbils should not be neutered unless there is a good reason for it.
no gerbils are not originally from the UK but instead from the deserts of Asia. But you can still buy gerbils in the UK
Yes, mice are smaller than gerbils, but I think gerbils are the right size.
The Mongolinian Gerbil (a.k.a the one most people keep as a pet) is found in Mongolia(no suprise there) but they also have reletives from the same genus(Gerbillus) Living in arid regions of Asia minor and Africa.Gerbils live in Mongolia and a few other deserts.
They do have seizures (this is common in young gerbils)
No, they are not related. Gerbils are rodents, Rabbits are not.
