Cats do not menstruate. The release of eggs is triggered by intercourse, so there is no wasted uterine lining to dispose of. Female cats experience a cycle of "estrus" (availability for mating) which is commonly called "being in heat." Few cats experience bleeding or discharge associated with the cycle.
