Humans played an important part in domesticating the dog. This took a 15,000 year span to fully domesticate the dog, throughout these years we have designated a wide variety of jobs singling out the best breeds for individual jobs e.g, collies took up the roll of herding, retrievers fetching game, spaniels retrieving and flushing out game, rottweilers, Doberman and German Shepard's gard and protection, terriers for ratting, and sled dogs. Not forgetting all breeds being used as companions as now thay stand(along with some of the breeds listed above).

basically humans domesticated and provided a warm home with unlimited food supplies for our companions, AS NOW THEY STAND!!!!!!!!!!!

How has artificial selection influenced the evolution and domestication of dogs?

Artificial selection, where humans choose which traits to breed for, has played a significant role in the evolution and domestication of dogs. Over thousands of years, humans have selectively bred dogs for specific traits such as size, behavior, and coat type, leading to the wide variety of dog breeds we see today. This process has shaped the physical and behavioral characteristics of dogs, making them more suitable for various roles such as hunting, herding, and companionship.

What is the role of humans in the evolution of dog breed?

humans have not only tamed dogs, but we have bred them to the many different species we see today. chihauhaus are small because we only breed the smallest of the litter, while great danes are huge because we only breed the largest. it is the same for the different features and colorings. we, essentially, evolved dogs to be the ones we know and love today.

Why humans be affected if dogs were extinct?

This question would depend on the time frame and context of canine evolution and their role in human societies. It would be fairly certain that the existence of our species would be no different with or without them. Effects would be at the convenience level in both ancient and modern societies that use dogs for their skills and capabilities such as companionship, herding, hunting, protection and rescue.
