Thanks to Awan318 for the lead about the "Group" number. I guess "Group" is Deere-talk. My original Deere battery needs replacing. It says Group 51, but I didn't realize that was a proper battery number, so thanks for setting me straight. Now that I know what I'm searching for, I'm starting to get results.
Interstate shows an MT-51R and an I-51. The MT-51R has 500 CCA (cold cranking amps). The I-51 has 425 CCA, which is a lower capacity, lower power, costs $6 less, and it weighs one pound less, too. The label on the original battery says 500 CCA, so I should probably go with the "bigger" battery. Physically, the Interstate website shows the dimensions are exactly the same.
I'll do more browsing to see if I can find a lower price on a "Group 51."

A cross reference for a John Deere battery typically involves identifying equivalent battery models from other manufacturers that can fit and function in place of a specific John Deere battery part number. To find a suitable cross reference, you can check battery specifications such as size, terminal configuration, and cold cranking amps (CCA). It's recommended to consult a battery retailer or reference guides that list compatible batteries for John Deere equipment. Always ensure the selected battery meets or exceeds the original specifications for optimal performance.

The battery part number BT-6M1.3AC typically cross-references with several models, including the Panasonic LC-RD6.5V1.3AH, Yuasa NP1.3-6, and others in the same voltage and capacity range. However, it's essential to verify specifications such as size and connectors to ensure compatibility. Always consult manufacturer datasheets or cross-reference tools for precise matches.
That number is not recognized by the Fram Cross Reference chart.
Don't know of any cross ref for this battery. Standard group 22NF, 500CCA. That should be enough info to get battery replacement from local parts store.
