The burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) is causing global warming and climate change. Oceans are becoming more acidic from the additional carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere, and acidity causes problems for small sea creatures like krill which is the main diet of all whales. If the food supply dies out, then the species is threatened.
