Physically, foxes are comparible to dogs, wolves and coyotes. Being general, you could call foxes 'cousins' to other canids. Foxes have large, pointed ears, a long and bushy tail, and a pointed muzzle. Depending on the breed, foxes can be different colors. Red foxes can have a reddish-brown color or a black color, Fennec foxes have a sandy brown color, Arctic foxes are usually white in color, etc., etc.. Mentally, foxes are very smart. They are able to comprehend situations with a high level of intellegence, which is one reason people like to hunt them, which in my opinion is inhumane. In terms of their lifestyle, they are mostly independent, and they usually only live with breeding mates, maybe a litter mate, their kits, or a mixture of the bunch. They mostly live in dens that were made and abandoned by other animals, but they have been known to dig their own on rare occasions. Foxes live closer to humans than most people would think. They prefer open fields to forests.
