Animation
2D animation is another term from traditional animation that required hand-drawn images for each frame movement. This type of animation started in the late 1800s.
The four types of animation are traditional animation (hand-drawn), computer-generated animation (3D), stop-motion animation, and motion graphics. Each type uses different techniques and tools to bring characters and scenes to life through movement.
Mimic
Animation means movement. To say that a person "looks rather animated today," means that they seem to spring around, bouyant in their movement. Animated film is any film that takes still things like drawings or clay figures and gives them the appearance of movement by adjusting them just a tiny bit with each frame (a still photo) shot. When the sequence is played at 24 frames per second or greater, the eye percieves this as fluid motion. Flash is a powerful vector-based application for creating animation for the web as well as stand-alone film-type projects. "Flash animation" is merely any animation created in Flash.
Pretty much a sequence of images that create the illusion of movement. Like a flipbook.
Puppet animation is a form of stop-motion animation where puppets or figures are manipulated frame by frame to create the illusion of movement. It is a popular technique in animation for its ability to give characters a more realistic and tangible presence on screen. Examples of puppet animation include films like "Coraline" and TV shows like "Sesame Street."
Digital animation is when there are a series of graphics which are the same only placed in different areas in each frame so that it can create the illusion of movement when in reality they are still pictures
Photo editing is simply 'touching up' or improving a still image. Animation is combining several still images to create the illusion of movement.
both are pictorial representations of the movement of something. In the case of a graph, the movement is shown by a (curved) line connecting the two or more parameters. In the case of an animation, the media will be video of some sort, with pictures showing the variation of the result as the parameters are varied.
Stopmotion animation is a form of animation where objects or characters are moved frame by frame, and then sped up to create a video. It revolves around capturing a series of still photographs, with each photograph representing a slight change in position or movement of the subject. An excellent example of Stopmotion animation is a YouTube channel known as "Wei Animations". Watching his videos is what got me into animation.
Animation in general is the frame by frame photographic process in which the illusion of movement is created. Animation can be moving a box from one side of the screen to another, or a character in a fight scene. Both subjects you are asking about arent that different. They both follow this concept. Except the facial animation is just the animation of the face, changing the character's expression or mood. This is essential for the character, for he is the actor in your movie. Hope this helps.
