The "average" weight for an adult cat is 6-12 pounds. However, much depends on the breed and the cat's health and age. We have a 13 year old Maine Coon male that weighs 16 pounds (most of it fur!), a female Turkish Angora that weighs 10 pounds (she's gotten a bit, well, chunky), and a full grown male that weighs barely 6 pounds. There you go!

It depends on breed. A tabby may not get over 5 pounds while a ragdoll could weigh over 20. My domestic shorthair weighs 11 pounds and is still growing.
