don't shout its name at it, or ot will be confused when you need to call it. shout NO! or STOP!

if you're in bed and it is clawing your face, then blow in its face if you are close to it.

if it's on the floor grab it's scruff (back of the neck) firmly but gently and give it a little wiggle, whilst growling or hissing like it's mum would. (do NOT lift it by the scruff)

if the cat's on the worktop gently push its bum to encourage it off and say OFF, repeat EVERY time.
