The usual way the Japanese to kill a whale at sea is they wait for a whale to come up for air (Whales are mammals, so they can't breath underwater), then they harpoon it.
The harpoon can sometimes have grenades inside the tips, so that it will explode inside the whale's body. The whale is then pulled close to the boat and shot several times with a rifle. The whale is then pulled up onto the boat, and cut into peices. Sometimes it is butchered alive. :(
America is against whaling. They almost put whales out of the ocean for good when they did do whaling. They wanted their blubber for oil.
to stop the Japanese whaling fleet illegaly killing whales for what they call research.
Whaling isn't good at all
Commercial Whaling has been banned since 1986 by the International Whaling commission. However, scientific whaling is allowed to strict quotas.
Whaling should'nt be allowed again, as it could cause a slowly growing population of great species, into an endangered species. Whaling still exists illegally in some countries, and whale parts are in several cosmetic's including lip-stick! Whaling is a vicious, dangerous so called "sport" or "hobby", but would you call being chased by murderer's a hobby? I dont think so.
While whaling for certain industries is bad. i.e. ones that don't use all parts of the whale. are horrible there are parts of the world that still depend on whaling for food and supplies. Making whaling illegal would cause huge damage to their culture and their ability to maintain themselves.
Whaling happens in oceans, not on continents.
Protesting and intervening with whaling ships
Whaling stopped in Australia is 1979
If you mean whales, they die painfully.
Well scientific whaling as basically when you do scientific research on whales. This is actually one of Japans excuse for whaling but of course their lying they use it for food and oil and all that (STOP WHALING!)
Whaling goes back more then 5,000 years.
