What is the difference between mice and wild rats?

Well for starters, a rat is bigger than a mouse. Also, rats have a pretty horrible reputation(an entirely wrong one by the way, it was the lice and ticks and things' fault) of being disease carriers. Entirely wronged for that.

Mice are smaller, with finer bones and they are dumber than rats, who can learn very quickly and tend to be a better pet than mice do. Rat's also tend to be more inclined to being a humans companion than mice, who will....well....unless trained extensively and for as long as they live, will try to be naughty in every way possible to their little minds.

No, a mouse is usually very small, about an inch to three including the tail, a rat is much bigger, i would guess anywhere from 6 inches to a foot long including the tail, both very cute, intelligent animals....

Rats tend to be bigger than mouses and seem to be more aggressive than mouses so if you corner a mouse it will back off in fear and a rat would jump up and attack you.Hope this helps
