horses have bigger breed types such as shire horse, Clydesdale ,Suffolk punch and lots more where as ponies have smaller breed types such as Shetland, Dartmoor and the smallest bred of pony the Fallabella.

They are called foals, a colt if its a male foal, and a filly if its a female foal.Ponies are horses that are under 14.2 hands, but again, are not 'baby horses'.Bottom line, Ponies are not foals, nor will they ever be, there is a big difference between the two. If you do not believe me, look it up. Anyone that knows anything about horses should know this.
