What is the opposite of a rodent?

There isn't really such a thing as the "opposite of" a rodent. A rodent is a classification of a type of animal so in some ways a plant might be the opposite, or an animal that was very different (like a fish?), but there are lots of ways of being different. Opposites exist when things are either-or, not if there are a lot of possiblilities.

Nouns in the English language do not have genders (unlike German and French, for example). Even if they did, mouse would not have an opposite gender. The word mouse applies to mice of both sexes.

There is no direct opposite for animals.

However, the "elephant" has many opposite characteristics. A mouse is small, quiet and often lives underground. An elephant is large, noisy and lives above ground. However, both are mammals and have considerable biological similarities.
