Interact with your hamster everyday for at least an hour or two. Let your hamster know you're not a predator by offering him/her food from your hand and petting them.
Hamsters are rodents, like mice and rats. They don't, as such, have "prey" - they eat grains and are, for the most part, herbivores. I doubt you'd ever find a hamster stalking a hunk of celery or a piece of corn....
There is lots like, Syrian, Chinese dwarf hamster, Campbells dwarf hamster, Robo dwarf hamster, Russian hamster. My favorite, is the blueberry campbells dwarf hamster and the Syrian hamster. They are the sweetest and easy to hold. NOT THE ROBO"S!!!
depends how much it ate, but it will most likely die if it ate enough. I would call the vet right away...perhaps he would have a medicine to give the hamster to reverse the effects of the poison.

Chances are, if it looks like your stereotypical hamster, it is a hamster. If it doesn't, it's a rabbit.

I had a hamster a few years ago, they have sharp teeth and mine had claws, so they can bite and scratch, they also hide and/ or play dead Hamsters protect themselves by biting or hiding. usually biting. Biting. or peeing if scared, or mouthing (not actually leaving a mark) to tell you it wants you to put it down. Hamster bite. In the wild, many types of hamster empty their cheek pouches of seeds and whatever they've hoarded to distract their predator's, which are mainly birds of prey, the bird stops to eat the seeds while the hamster makes its great escape.
