According to the National Wildlife Federation, Grizzly bears can stand up to 10 feet tall on their back legs and weigh up to 1,700 pounds. The males are significantly larger than the females, with the latter usually not exceeding 800 pounds (still four times heavier and many times stronger than a good-sized human).

how big is a bear ?
The polar bear is the largest bear followed closely by the Kodiak bear.
The grizzly or brown bear and the polar bear are basicly the same size.
Fossil evidence has beavers of the ice age up to six feet in length. This would be the size of a panda bear but no where near a grizzly or a polar bear definitely not the size of a cave bear.
