This is incorrect. A wolf is only about 1 lb at birth. They are really much smaller than you would think. They are often dark colored, and do not have the fuzzy coats at birth that they will have in just a couple of weeks. They live with their mothers for eight weeks in the den, and grow very rapidly.

Depending which subspecie of wolf, the weight on average is

45-150 pounds. the largest wolf is recorded in Alaska in 1943, i believe it was around that year, coming in at 170lbs.
