Dogs are carnivores. That means their diet should consist mainly of meat. Never feed a dog grapes, raisins, or tomatoes. Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in a dog. Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias in dogs. Any other fruit that they like is fine, but should only be given as an occasional snack, not as a main part of their diet. The seeds or pits of some fruits such as apples, cherries and peaches contain cyanide and you should not let your dog eat the seeds or pits.
