What makes a cow angry?

Head down eyes open and full throttle till she gets you or decides you got the message. A bull has his eyes closed at the last second before he gets you so you can side step (don't try to test this).

By charging, bellowing, shaking their head at the intruder, and pawing the earth. If the predator comes to attack, the cows get the animal on the ground so that they can grind its ribs to the earth with their head and chest, and stomp them with their hooves. If the cow has horns, then she will try to gore it as well. They will continue until the animal is either dead or gives up and runs away.

Cows can get a little angry because of their personalities, or if you are doing something to their calf that they don't agree with. Sometimes cows can be angry just because they can, and just burst out with no warning for no reason at all. "Angry" cows also get "mad" when they sense a strange human walking in their pen with a weak state of mind (worried, scared, tense, apprehensive, sad, etc.) and try to dominate them. Or, like I mentioned above, angry cows get angry because of, well, genetics, loss of respect of humans, etc.

If you are injured, see a doctor for further diagnostic and treatments. If you ever are getting attacked by a cow again, do not run, they will sense that you are afraid and that they are dominant to you. Keep your eyes on them, get a stick or something long for defensive purposes. When they charge simply step to the side, keep backing away to a safe point or an exit.
