Guinea pigs and rabbits are different animals with different behaviours and different needs when it comes to how to care for them. Some people are happier with guinea pigs as pets, and other people are happier with rabbits -- it depends on what you want in a pet, and what kind of lifestyle you need. The question isn't just which pet is better for you, but which pet are you better for, as the owner. If you're trying to decide between guinea pigs and rabbits, spend a couple weeks researching each -- their care and behaviour, their pros and cons, and survey different people's opinions: this should help you decide between them. See the related questions below for info and links.

I had two guinea pigs before but I sold them to a friend. They made a lot of noise and they always had a distinct odor about the no matter how clean their cage was.

Quite possibly if they did not grow up together from babies. A dog would likely see a rabbit as prey. It is a natural instinct.
