They are scavengers & not typically plant eaters. Many in urban areas thrive off of living out of dumpsters behind restaurants. Rodents are commensal-meaning "sharing man's table" & that is what they really want. They like anything with seeds/nuts like peanut butter, or even bacon, avacados, chicken, fruit also highly attracted to grain products like flour & bread. Warehouses that have them have their bread racks hit all the time. They also like those bread sticks from the Olive Garden (I am serious, I just can't state which restaurant it was for obvious reasons) I've seen them hit the pies in places like Chili's & Bakers square too..
