And second of all, you should take your dog to the animal hospital emergency room immediately. For, this can cause serious digestion problems and can possibly cause death if it gets lodged in his/her throat.

If a large breed dog eats a small, round piece of plastic you can just watch him for a few days at home - he'll pass it in his feces after a couple of days. it depends on the amount of plastic the dog has eaten, if its a lot of plastic, like lets say a plastic box, then no, you might want to get his stomach pumped, but if it wasnt that much, like an army man or a small childs toy, then no, the dog should digest that pretty easily.
