Answer 1) Whenever a dog jumps on the guest, put him/her in it's cage or lock them out of the room. Then, about 10 min later, bring them back into the room where your guest is and repeat the process. Hopefully your dog will understand that jumping on guests=cage, and they wont do it anymore. Be patient! Some dogs take more time to learn than others! It worked on my dog, hope it works on yours!
Answer 2) If your dog jumps up on you, simply pick up your knee (for large dogs) or your toes on smaller dogs so that it pushed on their chest and makes it feel as if they want to fall over. Do not look them in the eye when you do this and do not talk to them. Do not hurt the dog though but do it firmly enough to deter this behaviour. If your dog does not jump up on you and only on your guests, invite him to jump up on you then try it. Repeat it until he stops. You can also get someone else like a friend or family member to do this. You can teach the dog not to jump up in a matter of minutes.

With patience and consistency, your border collie can learn to greet guests politely.

If a dog was allowed on furniture as a puppy, the harder it will be to stop this behavior. The dog will have to be leashed inside the home until any attempts to climb up have been removed. As the dog approaches a chair, bed or other furniture, gently tug on the leash BEFORE the dog reaches its destination and say a firm "no". If it knows "no" to other things, it should not take too long before the dog makes the association.

To prevent your dog from jumping the fence, you can try increasing the height of the fence, using deterrents like coyote rollers or adding an extension to the top of the fence. Additionally, providing enough exercise and mental stimulation for your dog can help reduce their desire to escape. Consulting a professional dog trainer for further guidance may also be beneficial.
