What should you do when you see a bear?

First NEVER turn your back on a bear and run! This can insight the bear to chase and attack. The best defence against bears is to always let them hear you coming with bells on your clothes or by constantly making some sort of noise as you hike, most bears will take off and avoid contact. If you still encounter a bear you need to be loud, aggressive and try to look scary. Flip your jacket over your head and scream at the animal. An air horn scares the heck out of some, carrying one is not a bad idea.

Most adult bears cannot climb a tree very well so if you have to climb one to get out of immediate danger. Even if the bear still chases you up a tree you have a way better chance kicking him in the nose and face while he trys to get up than you would fighting him on the ground for sure!

So not run it will chase you and you can NOT outrun a bear... If it stands on its Back legs or tries to lean closer this is not a sign of aggression he is getting a better look or smelling you. Back away slowly and do not look them in the eye!!! If you are with someone get on their shoulders or let them get on yours to make yourself look taller and bigger than the bear.

i read that if you

confront a bear you should make yourself look tall especially if your in a group. but if your alone im not sure what you do.
