Pour a cup of hydrogen peroxide down its throat to get the poison up. Take to vet right away! Get a shot of Valium or something stronger if it doesn't help. Stay with the dog all night. Its a long recovery.

They eat grass and sea slugs eat seaweed.
I don't know, but after my dog was very sick a couple of weeks ago I found pink pellets (like dobies.ubumama.net/Suet-Pellets-with-berries---1kg ) on the pavement where we'd been walking (tiny pellet, big dog with iron digestion). I met a neighbor this morning whose dog had salivated a lot after eating a pink pellet from another footpath. Is that what your parrot eats?
On land a newt just pounces on a slug or some other thing that it eats and kills it then it eats it.
I'm not sure what the question regarding artificial grass is, but I can answer regarding slug pellets. Slug pellets do not harm plants and I have not seen any harmful effects to any creature other than slugs and garden snails. If you remove any pots, stones or other things that slugs can hide under, you should be able to reduce their population. However, those things add a lot of decoration to our gardens and you might want to just put down the slug bait.
