Well everyone gets sick and throws up and will at some point in time in their lifetime. Its a very natural thing... its definitely NOT at all a nice and pleasurable thing to experience in anyway...

If you have a young child, in your case a 1 year old... DO NOT get mad or upset. DO NOT scold them or punish them. Throwing up for a young child at that age is a very scarey thing. They don't know what is happening. All they know is their tummy doesnt feel good. It's uncomfortable and it may make them a little irritable or cranky but that's normal. The worst thing someone can do is get upset or angry with a young child if they throw up. Its very scarey for them and when a young child throws up yea they are going to be a little frightened and need their mom and dad or whoever is looking after them whether its a day care staff member, a teacher, and aunt, grandparent or anyone to be there to comfort them. When they have finished throwing up just hold them and tell the child its okay. Say don't worry we can clean that up. Try not to irritate them more or upset them more. make sure they know you arn't mad and that its easily cleaned. Don't freak out it will just scare the child more. Make sure they know that its okay to get sick. If its a bug bring a garbage pail over or a bucket and say (if they are old enough to understand it yet), and try to CALMLY explain that if they have to be sick again that they can do it in the bucket. As the child gets older you can teach them to go to the bathroom and use the toilet. but bottom line is do not over react and get upset ESPECIALLY with a young child! hope this helps!
