Originally the plans called for troops to invade from Devon to Dover but the plans were refined.

The invasion would land in the Dover region and a belt of mines would be laid on either side to keep out the Royal navy.

They had few landing craft for tanks so the giant messerschmitt 'Gigant' gliders were designed to bring them over by air! Despite this the infantry would have had significantly reduced tank support so the Blitzkrieg style warfare they were used to wouldn't have happened.

Also due to their being no landing craft for infantry they were converting barges in the low countries, most would have sunk if they had left harbour they were that unseaworthy.

The plans were tested a few years ago in the most detailed war game in history, every time it was run the German army was completely wiped out due to the Royal navy cutting off their supply lines. Sea lion was a pathetically planned operation in comparison to D-Day and never had a chance of succeeding.
