Paso Fino's are a relatively good breed for endurance. Better breeds would be the Akhal-Teke and the Mustang as both of these breeds are more than capable of out performing Arabians if properly conditioned.
Yes they are a very old breed, they come from the deserts of arabia. Their blood is in mostly every breed of horse. They are breed for their beauty. I should know all of this, I own Arabian Horses!!!! They are the oldest breed of horse. All breeds originate from them. They were first bred by the Boudein tribe in the Arabain Peninsula, where they still are wild. They are bred not only for their beauty, but also for their stamina, speed, endurance, adn intelligence. The warriors of the tribe would ride a mare to battle, always. Thus, they were rarely for sale. To find out more, go to American Arabian Association.
It depends on your personality, ability of riding, amount of challenge, and do you want to do competitive trail or endurance? for competitive trail and endurance the Arabian or part-bred Arabian is the hands down winner. Morab is actually not a single breed, but a cross between a Morgan and an Arabian. Now, not to be confused: Morgan Horses were actually developed by using a mixture of breeds, and that included Arabians. However, once the breed was developed and if crossed back on an Arabian, you would now have a Morab.
I would say, based on experiece, that the most popular breed of horse is the Arabian, though there is most likely a lot of debate on the subject.
An Arabian is a breed of horse but it was the first breed of horse every horse has a little bit of Arabian in it so if you say that Secretariat was a FULL throughbred that would be wrong he would have a little bit of Arabian in him
The best Arabian horse in the world is going to vary from person to person due to their opinions. One person may prefer endurance legends while another may prefer halter horses and thus each one will list a different answer.
Well technically the Przewalski's horse is the oldest and purest of the wild horses, in fact it's the only truly wild breed of horse in the world. However there are three real contenders for oldest and purest of the domestic horse breeds. These would be the Caspian, the Akhal-Teke, and the Arabian. Recent research however shows that the Arabian is actually a cross between the Caspian and the Akhal-Teke as it has blood markers for both of these two breeds, but Caspian and Akhal-Teke lack markers for Arabian blood. The research into this is fairly new and not well publicised and the Arabian Horse Association maintains it's belief that the Arabian is the oldest and purest breed.
The cross between an Arabian and Quarter Horse is not actually a breed. This cross is more commonly refered to as a Quar-ab and although the AQHA (quarter horse registry) will not accept this cross in their registry, the Arabian registry will accept this in the half Arab registry. This means you can show your horse at Arabian shows in the half Arab classes. The Quar-ab is a very pretty horse. You get the beauty of the Arabian and the calm nature of the Quarter Horse.
It is said they have the fewer ribs to travel over the land in the dessert better then most equines. Answer2: Although there seems to be a higher number of Arabians with one less rib it is not a trait that is found solely in the Arabian breed, it can occur in any breed of horse.
The thoroughbred breed descended from three foundation Arabian sires, the Byerley Turk, the Darley Arabian and the Godolphin Arabian. In turn, these three sires produced four main thoroughbred lines: Eclipse, Herod, Matchem and a son of Herod named Highflyer. The sires would have been bred to the native English stock, which most likely would have included breeds such as the Norfolk Roadster, the Irish Hobby, and the Galloway crossed with Spanish and Italian bloodlines.
