Diffusion.
Oxygen and carbon dioxide are moved to and from body tissues via the circulatory system. These materials diffuse through the cell membrane, and then diffuse through the capillary wall into or out of the bloodstream.

Pulmonary circulation is the process by which blood is pumped from the heart to the lungs and back again to pick up oxygen and release carbon dioxide. In the lungs, carbon dioxide is exchanged for oxygen through the alveoli in the respiratory system. This oxygenated blood then returns to the heart to be circulated to the rest of the body.
Carbon dioxide is primarily transported out of cells through diffusion. It moves from an area of high concentration within the cell to an area of lower concentration in the surrounding tissues or the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream, carbon dioxide is carried by red blood cells to the lungs where it is exhaled.
Transpiration is the botanical term for this exchange of gases. Air, containing the carbon dioxide that plants need for photosynthesis, enters the plant in this process by way of small holes on the undersides of the leaves, called 'stomata'. This same process in reverse is how the plant moves oxygen, the by product of photosynthesis, out to release it into the atmosphere. In the transpiration process, plants use a water layer at the cell level to dissolve the carbon dioxide to be carried into the cell, since air can not move through the cell wall directly. Oxygen is moved out through the cell wall dissolved in water in the same manner.

The Respiratory system. We breathe oxygen containing air into our lungs. Our hearts send 'old' blood to the lungs where the carbon dioxide is removed and oxygen added, and that oxygen enriched blood is carried around the body until it lands up in the lungs again. So is it really a joint effort by the circulatory system and the respiratory system.

In photosynthesis, redox reactions play a crucial role in transferring electrons from water to carbon dioxide, converting them into oxygen and glucose. Well, first you lungs breath in and breath out air. (Inhale is to breath in Oxygen)(Exhale is to breath out carbon dioxide or wastes) Your lungs have aveioli. These are inside of the lungs. They help collect nutrients from your food. Then all the wastes are exhaled from the lungs. But, where does this all start out from? When you breath in. And out. It happens in a matter of seconds. Your body works so well. Just think about it. Your body can move that fast. Everytime you breath in and breath out. Well, the air or oxygen moves to the lungs, then aveioli collects the nutrients, this is then moved into your blood. Fascinating, huh? Your blood then uses that nutrients to help the rest of your body!
