Dogs think poop is a treat actually - it is not at all abnormal although for humans this seems disgusting. It is not necessarily bad for them (like it might be for humans) but just kind of not desirable for owners. Obviously, the best thing to do is to keep them entertained with more desirable healthy treats, and keep them out of situations where they can do the former. For dogs, this really is a normal reaction. Be nice to your pets :)
